had heard a lot about this place during numerous visits to this part of Cornwall, so decided to book a table in the conservatory. Very cramped and heaving, I guess to be expected on a high season Saturday. Generally pricey and they served an 'off' lobster - pretty unforgiveable - although they were gracious enough to refund the considerable lobster price tag. Nice atmosphere and location though.

I have a cottage in Mousehole and because a brother, his wife and their 4 children were staying I went to stay at The Old Coastguard. From the receptionist to dinner to breakfast was all a very good, efficient and excellent experience. Dinner with all seven of us was exceptional (including a special birthday cake!) and everything cooked perfectly. All staff were pleasant, polite, fun and nothing was too difficult for us or the children. Can't rate the place high enough

We ate here at Easter having visited on numerous previous occasions, the last being December 2006.
Three of us dined and we are all normal in appetite. We found that prices had risen i.e. three course meal for £35 and that portions had decreased significantly, in fact we were quite hungry when we left. The food was presented in a very attractive way but lacked substance.
Speaking to locals at a nearby Pub we found that all of them considered that it had gone too far in "London pricing" etc and was used by visitors almost solely. However, the lovely views had not changed and staff were generally friendly and efficient.
