The Lugger Hotel and Wheelhouse Restaurant review
I went to the Wheelhouse for a family birthday and it was shocking. The restaurant was very tatty with very dirty carpets and chairs. When we were seated one of the chairs was badly broken with no seat and the others were heavily stained. The staff were very polite and attentive but this could not make up for the rest of the experience. I decided that I did not want to eat and simply ordered a glass of sparkling water, I had to return the glass because it was covered in lipstick. My husband had the carvery and was unable to eat much of as it tasted as though it had been deep fried in over used oil. I ordered a childrens meal for my daughter, the sausage was deep fried and terrible quality and the chips were greasy and she wouldn't eat them. All in all it was a dreadful meal and I thought fairly expensive at £10 for a carvery and £5 for a childs meal. Many other local restaurants offer a very good quality carvery for this price
