    Nice pub. Delicious Sunday Roast. Staff were friendly. Atmosphere was cosy. Fire was roaring. Surf was good. Worth the walk! :-)

    With reference to the above comments, these guests were given the best table in the house with the best view from the bar. The guests were asked if they could be seated promptly as they were a large group. The youngsters of the group muddled up their desserts and tried to blame the staff for this!!! The eldest lady of the family then started to shout abuse at me along with personal insults (I am the proprietor) Then the entire family had me penned in against the wall whilst pointing their fingers at me and insulting me and my pub!!! LOL!!! Now the woman scowls at me when I drive past her in Goonhavern. If you want Silver Service, then may I respectfully suggest somewhere grand like the Headland Hotel, where you would not find lunch on Mothering Sunday for £12.95!!! We are a friendly, relaxed family pub and 99.9% of our customers are always happy :-) It is true when they say, you can't please all of the people all of the time .........



    For those of you that don't know, we are a family pub overlooking Crantock Beach with fantastic views, plenty of parking and direct access to the beach. We have an olde worlde bar and a modern sports bar, now with 9 Screens and 3D sports viewing, plenty of space for large groups, Local Ales, Good Pub Food, friendly local staff and we pride ourselves in being a family run business.

    having been to the bowgie on various occasions, to celebrate birthdays and engagements, together with friends and family,what a surprise to find that on mothers day this year, the management to greet us, with the kind welcome of "you are late" ? you should have been here at 12.o clock.Forget me but when we booked the table for a party of 13 we were asked if we would prefer a 12.30 or 2.00pm slot 12.30 was requested.
    so on arrival it was made very clear that we were in the wrong with a verbal bashing from the management slateing us the customers for being late. well it became clear during the meal that they were unable to cope with providing a modicome of service on this of all days.felt sorry for the staff trying to cope but management unable to take or receive any construtive critisium which is a shame because they have lost our trade and that of friends and family and every one else i care to talk to
