The Baba Indian Restaurant review
A few weeks ago 5 of us went to Baba's Penzance. I think they have put up their prices to offer discount. However this is not my main complaint. The service was very slow although the place was nearly empty. My grandaughter ordered the lamb curry. Fine at first, but as she ate through it ,the cubes of meat had rather large 'tubes' left in it. This put us all off, so we told the waitress about it, and asked what it was. She never returned. We asked again and was told "it's just what you get in meat " I don't think so. All they had to do was give the child a free meal for goodwill, but no ,our £90 bill came in. Needless to say we have voted with our feet never to return. -

Part of a party of 16, complained that there was no beer on menu, told by waitress that we could bring our own. When one of our number got back with the beer the manageress refused to let us drink it despite offering to pay corkage. Went downhill from then on, one of the starters was frozen on the inside, though they agreed to not charge. Plates arrived very hot, food arrived 50 mins later so the plates were cold. Very uneven portions, some had mountains others had tiny portions, so we had to share out the food amongst ourselves. My curry actually tasted quite good though my wifes was horrible. According to others the food here used to be good but the restaurant has gone downhill a lot recently. Taj Mahal or Little India are both much better if you are looking for a curry in Penzance -

The Baba Indian Restaurant review
I recently visited BaBas restaurant on New Year’s Eve for a meal for two with my girlfriend. I arrived at the restaurant for 9pm when my booking had been made for 2 weeks previous. However when I went to confirm my booking BaBas had failed to write it down and therefore I had no table booked for the restaurant. Luckily for us a couple who were already there and had not sat down to eat yet offered us our table but we declined and asked for a table where all four of us could sit. BaBas did have a table for 4 so luckily we managed to sit down. However before we sat down I noticed the manager was very friendly towards customers he knew and even appeared to offer them a table before other paying customers who had been waiting longer.
Anyway we were happy to get a seat and thought the worst part of the evening was over. We were wrong. We sat down at approximately 9.20pm but our main course did not arrive till 11.25pm. I believe we ordered our main course about 9.30pm with no starter and expected it to arrive within the hour. This is poor service and not good enough no matter how busy the restaurant is. Even when we got our food it was barely warm and had no taste to it. Once we had finished the waiter appeared to be hurrying us out of the restaurant even though there were several tables free for any customer who wanted to come in.
This is the worst experience I have ever had eating out and will from now on be avoiding BaBas restaurant.
I strongly advice anyone thinking of eating at BaBas to avoid it as all aspects of the restaaurant were generally poor and shoddy.
