    i have been a frequent (4-5 times yearly) visitor to pippa's steak house. the food has always been of high standard and i had no hesitation reccomending that we hold the work xmas do at the restaurant on 06 December 2008. There were 36 of us and it was a christmas menu. i chose a traditional turkey main course and a tate citron sweet. there was great confusion with the starters, (which were ok). My main couse was served (and consumed before that of my wife even arrived. there were no roast potatoes or anything else. i firmly believe that i ate a plated up microwave meal, sprouts, boiled potatoes, gravy, turkey. several of my colleagues did not even finish there meals. The sweet would have appeared to have had a crumble base. it did not. this was soggy and i believe that this course had stood for too long. i believe that this was an asda extra special line, reinforced by the fact that another item on the menu was eton mess, another Asda extra special line, both very good products but not what you would have expected having paid £27.50 per head. to say that i was bitterly disappointed was an understatement, (and embarassed as i had initially reccomended the restaurant. the food was poor, the service was poor and my colleagues were more critical than me. i believe that Pippa's regard Christmas as an excuse to rip off reveller's without employing any extra staff to cope with volume. Pippa's have ruined their previously enviable reputation and i will not be returning. a very poor show in a very competetive market. stick to serving couple's etc and stay away from group bookings!

    Pippas steakhouse is one of the best restaurants, in my opinion that i have come across in a long time. i recently visited the truro branch last friday and was extremly pleased with the food and even more impressed with the service. i would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone wwho wants good food, service and an electric atmosphere .
