Best in Penzance
Harris's Restaurant has been featured in the Michelin Guide longer than any other restaurant in Cornwall. Over the last 26 years I have enjoyed consistently good meals there and I believe that Roger Harris is still the best chef in Penzance, even though the competition is stiffer these days.
The smoked salmon stuffed with crab is exquisite - one of the best starters anywhere. I love the John Dory on samphire and the venison is always delicious. Roger's chocolate torte is exquisite, as are the rest of his desserts.
Added to all this, the service is always professional and the restaurant has a good ambience. -

Harris' Restaurant
Roger & Ann Harris have been consistently delivering the finest, unpretentious classic cuisine from their quirky intimate premises for over 20 years. Situated down a cobbled alleyway off Penzance's market Jew Street you will find a Georgian cottage, converted to house a two storey intimate restaurant & bar. Up the spiral staircase is the lunch time restaurant & bar, downstairs under an original tin ceiling is the evening restaurant. Roger presides in the kitchen delivering food to a consistancy that younger chefs can only aspire to. Ann delivers the front of house service with discretion & care. The place has a French feel, and classics are in evidence on the menu. Perfect place for an intimate dinner a deux
