Carn Brea Castle Restaurant review
We live close to Carn Brea and had always fancied going there. We booked for Valentine's night. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and escorted to our table which was very beautifully and romantically decorated. The ladies were gifted with a cute bottle of wine and heart shaped chocolates, I felt very spoilt and my husband a little jealous!! The interior of the castle was aged and beautiful with candles lighting it up, the atmosphere was magical. The host was lovely and made us feel very welcome and had a lovely chirpy personality which added to the enjoyment of the evening. The menu was a set one and there was plenty of choice. The food was delicious from starter to the coffee at the end, the attention to detail with everything was amazing. Well definitely be going back again, best valentines i've ever had! -

Carn Brea Castle Restaurant review
On arriving at Carn Brea Castle restaurant we were warmly greeted by our host and wowed by the ambience.
The food is superb - Mediterranean style grilled meats, mezze and curries.
Service was attentive and friendly throughout and everyone in the restaurant seemed to be having a wonderful time. As you sit quite close together, there is something of a communal feel, so possibly not the best place for an intimate date, but we felt that this added to the fun.
In all, this was an excellent evening. I was so impressed that I am hoping to book the castle for my forthcoming birthday party!
This is a unique experience and one that I totally recommend. -

Carn Brea Castle Restaurant review
I'm sure most people have an excellent time here, but me and my partner felt ignored. When we arrived the door was closed and we had to telephone to be let in - apparently they usually look out the window for people arriving and didn't see us. We were seated practically on top of a large, noisy party and weren't asked if we wanted any more drinks etc throughout our meal. When it came to asking for the bill, our request was ignored and we had to ask again 30 minutes later. The building is lovely, but very damp and cold, so wrap up warm! The food was fabulous though, and we're going to go again and hope for better service. -

Fantastic, we went there on the 20th Sept 08 for my partners birthday. The food was excellent, and the prices not over the top.Sitting at the table with just candle lights burning the sound of soft exotic music as we looked out over Redruth & Camborne it was an evening to cherish, looking forward to the next time. maybe mid winter -

Carn Brea Castle Restaurant review
My partner and I travelled from Bristol to go to this restaurant, we weren't disappointed. The castle itself is set on an eerie hilltop, which reminded me of scenes out of Wuthering Heights. It is the ideal place to have a romantic meal, although families seemed to really enjoy it too, especially as the owner seems to remember people who have visited previously.
If I could give you one tip, it would be to have the mezze, we were told in advance to have this, but we failed to order it in advance so couldn't get it. If you fancy the Mezze, just phone ahead and order it.
I can't say that the food was the best we have ever had, but we enjoyed ourselves so much because of the setting, and the host, who seems to be quite eccentric, that it just didn't matter.
Our bill for 2 starters, 2 mains, a pudding and a bottle of house red was £60.
Book well in advance, only spaces for 24! You won't regret it. -

The first thing to be said about this place is it is an unmissable experience! Even if you didn't like the food the whole thing would be worth it!
Set in an isolated 19th centruy hunting lodge/folly overlooking Camborne and Redruth some way below, the "castle" has more atmosphere than you can shake a stick at! One can only imagine what it would be like on a windswept winter's evening.
Anyway, almost forgot the food! Being a veggie I had a mezza which was stuffed vine leaves, humus and pitta and some kind of aubergine dip. All very tasty, could have been more of it though, an extra dish would have made it. Also there was a bit of an overlap with the starters. For future reference, if I went again I'd just pick all the starters and share them with someone.
Other, meatier food looked pretty good and well cooked. The rest of my party seemed pretty happy with what they had.
Drinks are a little limited with a choice of house red or house white (I think) -

If you want a dining experience than be sure to add this castle restaurant to your must list! The owner is a Jordanian who took an English wife. The food was well prepared but diffidently spiced from his background not hers. If for no other reason take your best girl to the castle at sunset & warm her blood with a little wine the view and ambiance is grand. To you Americans that wish to follow - getting up to the castle by car is one thing but strap on your seatbelts if you’re headed home after dark! -

Carn Brea Castle Restaurant review
We visited this restaurant on a dark, wet November evening. We were met at the entrance and led up a narrow stone staircase to a room with a welcoming fire. Our party of five were presented with menus and given some explanation as to the more unusual items on offer.
Our Jordanian host then led us up to our table. A room lit only by candlelight. This helped to create a real mediaeval ambience. We found it hard to choose from the extensive menu offering Middle Eastern as well as European cuisine. We chose Garlic Mushrooms and Menaeesh as starters. Main courses on offer included steaks, chicken, lamb and prawns with various sauces and accompaniments. The experience was enhanced by Arabic rhythms from the discreet hifi. Members of our party chose: Sayadeyeh - Tiger Prawns cooked with onions, garlic and green chillies on a bed of saffron rice; Fillet Cara - Steak in a rich whisky sauce; Pepper Fillet and Jordanian style lamb cutlets as our mains.
Whilst awaiting our coffee and dessert we were treated to our host, Mounir playing his bongo rather expertly. This was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and a unique experience. Well worth a visit.
