Bodenes Restaurant and Cocktail Bar review
review by: Sandra L
02nd 2006f August 2006
On 16th June 2006, we decided to have some lunch in Falmouth. We happened to notice a tapas bar, Bodenes, on Arwenack street, so decided to try it.
Norman had grilled sardines with a nice salad; these were very reasonable at £3.95. I decided to have three tapas, costing a total of £9.50. These were sautéed potatoes, peppers and onions in a tomato sauce, lightly battered squid with a chilli sauce and baby octopus with salad. They were all very pleasant, although I would have preferred the octopus without vinegar. We ended with a cappuccino and an espresso coffee.
We couldn’t help noticing some of the other dishes served. A whole crab with salad was only £7.50 and half a lobster was under £10. There were good portions of mussels, with chips if desired and the pint of prawns looked very good too. Prices were reasonable, the service was pleasant and the restaurant was deservedly busy.
