Nicely presented restaurant with prime location overlooking the sea. Food is generally of good quality, serving a mix of contemporary styles and seafood dishes.

The Old CoastGuard Restaurant review

I have a cottage in Mousehole and because a brother, his wife and their 4 children were staying I went to stay at The Old Coastguard. From the receptionist to dinner to breakfast was all a very good, efficient and excellent experience. Dinner with all seven of us was exceptional (including a special birthday cake!) and everything cooked perfectly. All staff were pleasant, polite, fun and nothing was too difficult for us or the children. Can't rate the place high enough

The Old CoastGuard Restaurant review

We ate here at Easter having visited on numerous previous occasions, the last being December 2006.
Three of us dined and we are all normal in appetite. We found that prices had risen i.e. three course meal for £35 and that portions had decreased significantly, in fact we were quite hungry when we left. The food was presented in a very attractive way but lacked substance.
Speaking to locals at a nearby Pub we found that all of them considered that it had gone too far in "London pricing" etc and was used by visitors almost solely. However, the lovely views had not changed and staff were generally friendly and efficient.

Coastguard

The Coastie, as it is affectionately known, sits just off the road into Mousehole, with a car park [just about the only parking in the village]and serves top brasserie food all day with a slight change of emphasis when the lights go down.Voted best dining pub of 2003, it really has lost the 'pub'feel altogether now, and although not formal, it is recognisably a food driven enterprise. Inventive additions appear all the time to tempt the taste buds and range from Mediterranean to Pacific rim & back. Sitting with friends in the garden overlooking the sea or in the cosy bar in the winter, its laid back approach to dining can't be beaten.
