Golden Guinea review

Sorry Guys but I thought the food was terrible Starters was so-so as was main course. Dessert was terrible. Service was rushed couldn't shove us out the door quick enough.Came here about nine years ago and it was top notch then, hugely dissappointed that it has gone so bad. We tried it on two occasions in 2007 to give it a fair try and sorry to say we won't be trying again anytime soon. And it's a real shame as I actually like the place just not the food.

Mary Hartery obviously doesnt know good food if it jump up and bit her,the Guinea is the best restaurant for kind service, good prices, and good food. The only place we would reccomend in Looe and are constant visitors to the Guinea.A must for families! Mary wants to try the fish and chips from the restaurant next to the car park. this expensive crap would give her something to moan about at the time and in the morning. Our thanks to the hosts at the Guinea for making our holidays in Looe plesurable.

Were these people eating with their eyes closed?
I found the food was very well proportione and very filling, the staff were very freindly and happy.
I spent more in a Fish and Chip restuarant than in here for our family of 5, I found the prices here to be very reasonable and on par with most pub restuarants we visited.
This was the only place we visited twice on our holiday.
I would very much recommend this restuarant, thank you Golden Guinea for your excellent service and food.

This place is always busy. I am sure that we like most people were enticed by the charming old building and menu to suit all tastes. I am equally sure they do not get repeat business but exist on the constant supply of new and innocent arrivals. Puts British food and reputation back 25 years. Overpriced and poor food. Don't go in a first time would be my advice.

Restaurant in old building in main street.I seem to rememeber it having always been here since my first visit 40 years ago. Very old fashioned typical seaside food reminiscent of school dinners. Had probably the most awful glass of red wine ever - straight from the pump!! But its always busy.
