Orangery Cafe review

OK, firstly I like this place. Firstly because it's 2 minutes from my house and secondly because the food is fairly good.
BUT it is so expensive. For what you spend on a sandwich, coffee and cake here you could almost afford to eat in one of Penzance's restaurants.
I had a panini (which wasn't huge), coffee and cake and the bill was around about £10. I know somewhere a minute away you can get this for about half that much!
Problem is I keep going back!

Nice setting in Penlee Park with several tables outside on the patio. Gets quite busy around lunchtime so you have to get there early if you want a table in the sun.
Ordering is canteen style, but they do bring the food over to you.
The menu is mostly sandwiches, paninis, bake potatoes etc, so nothing too exciting, but decent ingredients.
As usual I had a brie and cranberry sandwhich which did exactly what it said on the tin.
Nice enough coffees and pleasent surroundings, the only drawback is it's a bit on the pricey side

This restaurant is open during the day for coffee and cakes, in addition to lunches. A wide variety of sandwiches is on offer, although I felt the crab sandwich was a little more expensive than it should have been. There are various lunchtime specials, salads and baked potatoes.
Coffee is good and the service and atmosphere are both pleasant. The museum is also worth visiting and often has exhibitions of the work of the Newlyn School of artists.
